5 reasons why money should not be hindrance to starting a business

10:07 AM 0

I've found that a surprising number of professionals -- the majority, in fact -- have dreamed about, or at least considered, the possibility of becoming an entrepreneur. So why aren't there more self-started businesses out there?

One reason is that people are apprehensive -- and understandably so. Starting a business is usually a massive undertaking, requiring significant time and money that people don't believe they can spare. They might be preoccupied with their current careers, or might prioritize spending time with their family over anything else.

But, more commonly, I observe, people are reluctant to start a business because of the money; they either believe they don't have enough to start a business successfully, or are scared of the risks involved with putting the money down.

If the financial aspect is your own greatest concern about becoming an entrepreneur, keep these points in mind:

1. Money can usually be saved if you put in the time.
Most things you'll buy in a business can be created, for free, with enough investment of time. For example, you could pay a firm or an in-house professional to build your brand through marketing and advertising, or you could spend a few dozen hours learning how to do it yourself. Similarly, you don't really "need" to hire someone new.
You can take on those responsibilities yourself and double your working hours.

Of course, it may not be the wisest or most efficient move to do everything yourself: Not only will your lack of expertise make it harder for you to be effective, but you could put yourself at greater risk of burnout. Still, it's worth remembering that you can trade money for time in most instances and still succeed.

2. Most things online are free.
Next, don't forget the enormous number of resources and opportunities that are available online, for free. You can build a website for free (or nearly free) using website builders like Wix or Wordpress, and the final product will be reasonably professional-looking. You can create accounts and connect with audiences for free, at any time, on pretty much any social media platform or forum.

You can even post classifieds and upcoming events, using free sites like Craigslist. The internet is full of information and free resources, so if money is an issue, consider taking advantage of them.

3. There are many sources of initial capital.
Let's say that you're not willing to invest time instead of money (and for good reason) and that the free resources you've found can't give you everything your business needs. You still need capital, and chances are, you don't have enough to fund the business yourself.
In that case, it's important to remember the many potential sources of initial capital. If you're willing to part with a percentage of your ownership in the company, you can work with angel investors or venture capitalists for an early cash injection. If you're making something tangible, you could use Kick starter, or another crowd funding platform to raise initial funds.

If you have friends and family members who believe in your idea, you could even ask them to contribute. There are multiple possibilities here, so chances are, at least one will pay off for you.

4. Early revenue should provide everything you need.
You might also note that once your business starts generating revenue, you should have everything you need to keep the business running. Assuming you're able to forgo drawing a salary from the business for the first few months of operation (thereby allocating your time to the business for free), you can redirect all the inbound cash flow you receive to other internal company developments.

Your business doesn't need to be fully fleshed out to get you your first customer; in fact, you may not even need a website or a brand in place. Go with a minimum viable product, and prioritize the establishment of an early line of revenue. The rest will fall into place.

5. Loans can close the gap.
If you're still struggling with money, or you start off successfully but run into an obstacle, don't rule out the possibility of getting a loan. Opening a line of credit is relatively easy and can provide you with all the cash you need to get through rough patches; and if your business doesn't have enough credit or history to get a loan, you can apply for a secured loan, or a personal loan instead.

I'm not arguing that money isn't an obstacle, or that money shouldn't be a concern. In fact, it's a good thing that you're fiscally responsible enough to assess the financial straits of entrepreneurship. However, money isn't the solution to every problem, and starting a business could take less money than you think.

How to be safe using Halloween security PART 2

1:49 PM 0

If you have not read my initial post on Halloween security, you haven’t missed so much because I will cover parts of the tips shared in the first post for you to stay more secured, but I advise you still check it out.
Mind you, this post is a result of research and information from a reliable source. WAP (World Aproko Master) is not liable to any bad result out of practice, but I hope these tips serve you better if applied well.

How to be safe using Halloween security PART 2

Halloween can be one of the most fun holidays of the year. It can also be one of the scariest – and I am not talking about the costumes. Halloween is a night for pranks and tricks that could be meant to be fun, but some people are not wearing masks for fun and they are not going door to door in search of candy. In fact, some unsavory characters much prefer it if you are not home at all. They are looking for things that are far more valuable than candy. You need to keep your family and home safe whether you are out collecting candy, or home trying to avoid the doorbell.

Halloween Safety Tips outside the Home

As fun as Halloween can be, there are some very real dangers lurking in wait for children. You might want to think the best of strangers who are handing out treats, but not everyone has the same definition of ‘fun’, so you need to be aware and protect your children. Here are some Halloween safety tips to keep you and yours safe this spooky night.

  • ·        Check all treats before eating. Children should have their treats checked by adults before they eat them. Just to be safe, you might even want to consider tossing out anything that doesn’t come in a pre-wrapped package.
  • ·        Light up the night. Make your children easily visible with flashlights or glow sticks. Some restaurants and fast food places even give away transparent bags for candy that include a glow stick you can put inside the bag. This limits the amount of things your child has to carry, but allows you to easily view them.
  • ·        Consider an alternative to trick-or-treat. You don’t have to take your children out to collect candy from strangers. Instead, you might take them to a haunted house or a hay ride. If you do take them out, consider taking them to friends and relatives so you don’t have to worry about what they may get in their bag.
  • ·        Host your own Halloween. If you want to be able to keep your home and children safe at the same time, consider having your own Halloween party. This will allow you to choose what they get for Halloween and who they are around.

Protect Your Home While You Are Out

Halloween is a very tricky time. If you leave the porch light on, people will come knocking for candy whether you are there or not. And yet, if you leave the house, you want to leave your porch light on for safety reasons. You may have to take different measures if you don’t want people to know you are not home and you don’t want people on your front porch while you are gone.

Light Up Your Home

Whether or not you have plans to go out on Halloween night, be sure to keep your home well lit. Turn on a few lights around your home to give the impression that someone is home and still awake. Additionally, well-lit areas outside your home will deter potential intruders or malicious pranksters by eliminating hiding places caused by shadows.

Make Use of Your Security System

Now is the perfect time to upgrade or add devices to your security system before Halloween gets here. Why the paranoia? Halloween is the one time of year when random strangers wander your neighborhood wearing masks and not drawing attention to the fact that their identity is hidden. You don’t want to fall victim to someone just because you did not make yourself aware of the time we live in and deal with your security system in a way that would keep your family safe.

  • ·        Adjust your security camera settings. If you have security cameras, you may want to adjust the areas that they are focused on. For instance, you might want to keep cameras on the doors and windows, but you also might want to put some focus on the streets around your house so that if any pranks are pulled, you can see where they came from and maybe even see who did them. Toilet paper rolls can be thrown from the street, as can eggs and other creative items.
  • Make use of your timers. If you have timers on your lights, take care to have specific rooms light up every now and then. For instance, leave the living room light and television on, but use a timer to light up the kitchen light every now and then so that it looks like there are people in the house going to get a snack every now and then.
  • Arm your security system. The excitement of getting ready for Halloween plans may make us forget to take simple safety precautions. Make sure to arm your security system (and lock doors and windows) before you leave your home.

Cell Phones are for Security

Cell phones are great for keeping you secure when you are out of the house. If your child does not have a cell phone and you are not the one taking him or her trick-or-treating, allow your child to borrow your phone.

  • ·        Check the charge. If your child has a cell phone, make sure it is fully charged. You might also want to make sure that he or she is in an area with good signal reception.
  • ·        Check your security system on a regular basis. A high quality wireless security system will allow you to check in on your security system on Halloween from your phone. You can even get alerts to let you know if something is happening in your home. While you can also do this from a computer, you probably don’t want to carry your laptop as you take your kids out hunting for candy.

Keep Safe at Home

You hate to imagine that criminal people will come to your door on Halloween, but it could happen. This is another instance when you can make great use of your security cameras. If you want to take serious preventative measures, you can observe the entire exchange of candy from inside your home. You can leave a bowl of candy on the porch with a sign that tells the children how many items they can take. You could mention that you are observing from inside through use of the video camera. If you do sit on the porch, keep your cell phone close by and try to sit with a friend or family member so that you are not alone. There is always safety in numbers.

Use Common Sense

In addition to the measures mentioned above, be sure to use some common sense on Halloween. Make sure your children stay away from strange neighborhoods and they should never go inside someone’s house. There is no kind of candy that is worth a security risk. Try to travel with a group for maximum safety. If you have a home security system, make effective use of it. If you don’t have a home security system, now is a great time consider getting at least minimal protection.

How to be safe using Halloween night security PART 1

9:09 AM 0

Halloween can be scary, but in a fun and safe way. Dressing up in costumes, getting treats and carving pumpkins are all fun Halloween activities. The following tips can help make these traditions an enjoyable time for the whole family.

 Halloween Night
  • ·        Never go trick-or-treating alone. Make sure that there is an adult or a responsible, older youth accompanying young children.
  • ·        Know the area you are going to be in. Plan where the trick-or-treating will begin and end.
  • ·        Remind your trick-or-treaters of common Halloween rules. Do not approach houses that do not look safe or do not have a light on and do not go inside any homes. Look both ways before crossing the street and walk, do not run, to the next house. Halloween safety

Creative Costumes
  • ·        Instead of masks, use face paint. Masks tend to get bumped out of place, potentially blocking vision or breathing.
  • ·        Check the length of your child’s costume. If it is too long, it could become a trip hazard. Also pay attention to special details on costumes, especially tails that can get wrapped around a leg or other objects.
  • ·        Trim trick-or-treat bags with reflective tape and if your child’s costume is all black or a darker color, trim the sides of it so they will be more visible. Carrying a flashlight will also help drivers to see children better as well as help keep the trick-or-treater from walking where there are hazards.
  • ·        Accessories need to be safe. Swords, knives and other items should be made from cardboard or a soft material.

The Treats
  • ·        Although it may be tempting for children to snack on candy while trick-or-treating, it is better to wait until they get home. An adult should go through the treats and throw out anything that looks as though it has been tampered with or is not in the original packaging. Pay attention to ingredients while you are sorting. Some candy may not be suitable for younger children.
  • ·        Accept and give out candy that isn't easily unwrapped.  Candies with twist-type wrappings can be tampered with more easily than those that are sealed.
  • ·        Try to stay in an area where you know the people handing out the treats. While most people have good intentions, do not accept home-made treats.

Jack-O-Lanterns
  • ·        Leave the pumpkin carving to the adults. Children can participate by cleaning out the pumpkin. Painted pumpkins are a fun and creative time for kids and much safer.
  • ·        Carve in a dry, well-lit area. You don’t want your pumpkin slipping off of a wet table and potentially injuring someone.
  • ·        Pick your carving utensils carefully. There are special pumpkin carving utensils that have a better handle to grip on to. Do not use extra-long knives because the tip may come out the other side and hit your hand.

The enmity between God and man

3:17 PM 0

BIBLE PASSAGE:
“Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that he cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins had hid his face from you, that he will not hear” (Isaiah 59:1-2).KJV.

M
ost times, when you go to God in prayers, you pray to God and give Him the lists of those things you want from Him. You even intercede for people, such as friends, family, boss, the church, your neighbors etc. You pray and normally, you are expecting the result of your prayers, forgetting to search yourself inwardly. The most important thing to do first when going before the Lord in prayer is to repent of your sins. Even when you think in yourself you’re clean and no not a sin, forgetting your righteousness is  like filthy rag before the Lord (Isaiah 64:6). First thing is to repent of your sins.

We have different kinds of sins people commit without and they don’t even admit them as sin. Rather admitting them as sin, they call them principle. For instance, it can be the sin of pride, arrogance, hatred, even selfishness and other forms of sin. If you don’t repent from all these, your prayer is as if you are exercising yourself, because sin has made a demarcation between you and God. You can’t prevail with God in prayer when you are in sin.

David understood this when he said, “if I regard iniquity in my heart, the lord will not hear me” (Psalm 66:18).KJV.
Isaiah said, “Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that he cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins had hid his face from you, that he will not hear” (Isaiah 59:1-2).KJV. Our God is righteous and holy, so you should walk in righteousness. You can’t fellowship with God when you live and dwell inside sin.

CONCLUSION:

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1).KJV. You are not expected to sin or be confortable in sin, but if you do, repent immediately, receive forgiveness and live right. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).KJV.

ACTION POINT:

The word of the Lord is a cleanser; it purifies our heart of sin and unrighteousness. Study the word of God, His word is the light to guide you all day in the path of righteousness.

Types of people you should avoid and how you should choose your partner

2:54 PM 0

BIBLE VERSE:
Make no friendship with an angry man: and with a furious man thou shall not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul (Proverbs 22:24-25) KJV.

E
veryone needs the assistance or support of another person. The Bible made us understand our Lord Jesus himself depended on the Holy Spirit throughout His ministry. According to the book of Act 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him” KJV. Even His disciples, after the Lord’s resurrection, Jesus largely depended on His disciples to continue the work he has started from where he stopped.

During his ministry, He had some people that supported Him with their substances when He shared the good news of the Kingdom (Luke 8:1-3). As a result of those that supported Him, Jesus never lacked money or what He needed during his ministry, to the point that He had a treasurer. Even until today, when God sends His servant on a mission, He would give him or her helpers who would assist in sustaining the ministry till the task is achieved.

As a matter of fact, God has given you as a helper to some people, a ministry or even your church. The question is. How effectively have you played this role assigned to you?

You have to remember and accept the fact that God is blessing you so that you can be a blessing to others, your leaders, and the work. God’s blessing is not limited to you and not yours alone. There is an appropriate portion that is meant to be released into ministries, helping those around you, those in need in order to receive the level of blessing God has in store for you. You should have it at the back of your mind that anyone you know you are better than should be considered as people in need. It’s not limited to that, where you know your contribution matters to them whether they ask you or not should also be considered. For example, prison, hospital, orphanage home, churches, pastors or a ministry. I pray the Lord will give you the ability to key into this commission and the grace to do so and you will not fail God in Jesus Name.

Now that you’ve seen you need one or more partners, let’s talk about how to choose a partner. How do you choose one? As read in the bible verse above, you must watch the temperament of the partner you want to choose before choosing. You should never choose an angry person as a friend or else you could be forced to learn his ways and enter into a trap. If you choose someone that is highly emotional and temperamental as a friend, he would have done you evil that cannot be redeemed before he comes to his senses.

So therefore, avoid such people. Avoid those with violent tempers. Avoid anyone that his character is questionable. Anyone that will introduce you to his gods and tells you, God is not against it. Avoid an unbeliever. Don’t make friends with someone that will lure you into immorality. No matter how close you are with the person, such person is a tool in the hand of the devil to keep you in bondage. Don’t make friends with thieves, miscreants, lazy, or idle people. Check the lists of your friends and anyone that does not meet these criteria must be dropped as soon as possible.

CONCLUSION:

Some helpers have become helpless because those they were meant to help have allowed them to take God’s place in their lives and ministries. The person you choose as a partner also determines how far you can go in life. People first access you by the person(s) you move with before other things. As they say, “show me your friend and I will tell you whom you are.” If you choose a wrong partner, he or she can make you turn against God and leads you to hell.

ACTION POINT:

Be watchful, be careful, be conscious of the type of people you move with and pray to God to choose the right partner for you.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 24 2016 OPEN HEAVENS:

TOPIC:   THE POWER OF KNOWLEDGE

Knowl

Memorise:
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: Seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4:6

Scipture to Read: Proverbs 1:20-29, (KJV)

20. Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice

in the streets:concourse, in the openings of the

gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,

22. How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?
and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools
hate knowledge?

23. Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my
spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

24. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have
stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

25.But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and
would none of my reproof:

26. I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock
when your fear cometh;

27. When your fear cometh as desolation, and your
destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress
and anguish cometh upon you.

28. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not
answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not
find me: 29 For that they hated knowledge, and did
not choose the fear of the Lord:

Bible in one year: Ezekiel 10-12, Psalms 67:1-68:6

MESSAGE

Knowledge can be defined in two major ways; first, as an acquaintance with the body of truths, facts, or principles accumulated in the course of time from study or investigation. On the other hand, knowledge can also be defined as the illumination of the mind, especially by the Word of God, leading to delight and increased pleasure in God. It should be noted that whenever the Bible talks about knowledge and knowing, it is usually in the sense of knowledge as an illumination of the mind by the Word of God. Biblical knowledge is a combination of scientific, philosophical, psychological, and spiritual knowledge; and this kind of knowledge is superior to any other.
In reference to the knowledge of the Word of God Hosea 4:6 says:

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: Seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”

As I have always said, knowledge is power because it is a major factor that controls the process of decision making and therefore ultimately determines the course of life. It is the level of your knowledge about any particular subject that determines your ability to make the right decisions about the subject. It is in this light that Proverbs 1:29 says those who despise or detest knowledge do so at their risk. Every Christian needs to know that dependence on worldly knowledge may lead to failure, but godly knowledge guarantees success.

Do you know that if you know more about God and His Word, it will affect you in making error-proof choices and decisions? That is why Proverbs 1:23 says,

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.”

The elements you need in taking those crucial decisions are contained in the Bible, prophetic utterances of genuine men of God and what He would like to say directly to you. How much time have you given to studying at His feet? Some think it is a waste of time to undertake personal Bible study while others are sleeping at midnight. No. You are gaining time. At the end, you will realize you spent far less time and effort in reaching your goal than the one who never cared to give priority to God’s Word.

Prayer Point
Father, please give me enlightenment and understanding by your word in Jesus’ name.
