The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Thursday said that internet users on Nigeria’s telecommunications networks have reduced to 92,281,921, as at June 2016.

The commission made this known in its monthly Internet Subscriber Data, which was obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

A breakdown of the data showed that internet users on both the Global System for Mobile communications (GSM), and the Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) networks reduced by 81,415.

It further said that 92,363,336 subscribers surfed the internet in May, but that only 92,281,921 did in June.

The data showed that out of the 92,281,921 internet users in June, 92,181,178 were on the GSM networks, while 100,743 users were on the CDMA. Of the 92,181,178 internet users on the GSM networks in the month under review, the document showed that MTN Nigeria had 32,974,177 customers browsing on its network.

It stated that MTN suffered a decrease of 134,609 internet subscribers in June, after it recorded 33,108,786 users in the month of May.

According to the report, Globacom had 26,628,065 customers surfing the net in June, showing an increase of 272,674 from its May’s record of 26,355,391.

It also said that Airtel Nigeria network recorded a rise of users with 17,325,423 internet users in the month of June, as against 17,280,089 customers in May.

The records, therefore, showed that Airtel Nigeria network users increased by 45,334 in the month of June.

The data also showed that Etisalat had 15,253,513 internet users in June, as against the 15,508,024 in May, recording a decrease of 254,511 users in the month under review.

It also revealed that the CDMA operators (Multi-Links and Visafone), had a joint total of 100,743 internet users on their networks in June.

It showed that the only surviving two CDMA networks in the country listed a decrease of 10,303 internet subscribers in the month under review, from the 111,046 users they recorded in May.

Visafone had 100,739 customers surfing the internet in June, showing a reduction of 10,303 users from its May record of 111,042.

Multi-Links had 4 internet users in the month of June, same as in May 2016.

The document stressed the need for more Nigerians to embrace the internet, to speed up the country’s progress towards achieving 30 per cent broadband penetration by 2018.

It’s not news that men will do a lot to please women they are interested in.

Most men act childish when they are really in love and this has cost them a great deal. It is not bad to please a woman but over doing it makes one stupid. As a man, you must be smart enough to read in between the lines to know what’s favorable and what’s not.

Obviously, we all know where this will end you and by the time you will be back, someone might have taken your place. Never allow anything to push you to steal in order to please your woman because if she later finds out you actually stole a gift for her, she might drop you, unless of course, you are in it together like Bonny and Clyde.

2. Pay For Her Education

It is not a bad thing to support her education, if you can help but to take full responsibility for everything to your own detriment can be dangerous. We are all humans and we change from time to time, most men actually think funding a girl’s education means they’ll be forever indebted to them, ending up getting married to them but we’ve seen several scenarios where the women will end up finding love elsewhere. This has been suicidal to many men.

3. Buy Her A House When You Don’t Have One

Common sense should tell you, you should build your dreams together but not favor her and think of yours later. Building a house for a woman when you don’t have one yourself can make you is wrong in every way. When she finally jilts you and lives in it with another man. There are many men still biting their fingers over thism.

4. Fight Another Man Because Of Her

Fighting because of her doesn’t prove anything. Two things are likely to happen, either the person beats you to a pulp and end up in the hospital or you will beat the person and end up in jail, either way, you don’t win. Unless it is for self-defense

5. Reject Your Family Because Of Her

A family is everything and no matter what, you can’t reject them because your woman doesn’t like them. It will be very dangerous on your part to reject your family all because of a woman.

6. Change Your Appearance

These days, there are many men doing a lot, taking pills to make changes to their bodies all because they feel that’s what women love. Changing you to please a woman means the moment you stop trying she’ll go, ideally, people you be with should love you for who you are.

7. Give Up On Your Dreams To Satisfy Her

So there are many men out there who gave up on their dreams to help their woman achieve theirs or were discouraged by women. These same women dumped them afterwards. Never do this after reading this.

8. Being Over-Submissive

It is nice to be sweet to your woman but always learn to set the records straight and don’t try to always appear weak to her and succumb to all her wishes in the interest of pleasing her. Truth is, women actually hate weak men and will prefer you’re sweet and sour.

9. Starve Yourself For Her

Never forfeit your food for her, at least you can share but to give all to her and go hungry, that’s not love, that’s stupidity.

10. Kill For Her

Never ever even think about executing such an atrocity for a woman no matter how convincing the situation is, because if you end up in jail, another man will take your position.

11. Die For Her, Literally


So many men have committed suicide because of a woman. What’s the sense in it when you’re finally dead and gone.

Electronic devices are things that we use every day and has a huge influence on our daily life. Especially the Internet is becoming more and more important for nearly everybody, probably more important than the devices themselves, and is now our most preferred means of everyday communication.

However, to enjoy the uninterrupted services of the internet, you need to have good connectivity. There are two important metrics in bandwidth allocation (measured in Megabits per second or Mbps): download and upload speed, denoting the speed of inbound and outbound data respectively.

The average web page loads at 6.3 Mbps universally, a number that denotes how many million bits of data can be moved in a second.

While 6.3 mbps is quick enough to send an email or watch a Netflix show, it’s still very slow.

Akamai Technologies, a Massachusetts-based internet provider, did a study on how the internet speeds measure up in countries worldwide. The company releases a report every quarter that ranks countries as per their internet speed.
According to them, here are the top 10 countries, which are mentioned in descending order of net connectivity.

1. South Korea

According to the Akami report, people in South Korea enjoy the fastest internet in the world. The country’s average internet speed measures 29 Mbps, which is 4.6 times as quick as the global average.

To put things in perspective, the average HD film is about 5,000 MB. A computer could download that in a little over two and a half minutes at 29 Mbps speed.
In spite of more than 80% of South Korean households have access to some of the world’s fastest internet connections, they face usage limitations. Several internet users have to face strong internet censorship in South Korea, according to a report released last year by the nonprofit Freedom House.

2. Norway.

Norway witnessed the biggest growth (68%) in internet speed at 21.3 Mbps since last year in comparison to any other country in the top 10. At this speed, a computer could upload or download about five high-quality photos per second.

3. Sweden.

Sweden’s internet offers an average of 20.6 Mbps, which means that many people hardly face any experience delays, even if they have multiple applications running that use a lot of bandwidth.
Since last year, the country has noticed a 32% increase in speed.

4. Hong Kong

Hong Kong was the first country in the world to hit 60 Mbps in 2013. Today, its residents enjoy an average internet speed of 19.9 Mbps.

5. Switzerland

The internet in Switzerland rises at an average 18.7 Mbps, a 25% increase from last year.

A Grade 12 learner in Namibia’s Ohagwena Region has invented a sim-less mobile phone that allows users to make free calls and watch one TV channel.

Simon Petrus, a student at Abraham Iyambo Senior Secondary School, created the phone using spares from a phone and television set.

Complete with a light bulb, fan and charger socket, the handset functions off power supplied through a radiator and is able to make calls to anywhere through the use of radio frequencies.

The invention, which is made up of a radio system, is attached to a box and also allows the user to view one TV channel on it.
He is also able to watch NBC1 TV on his box.

No stranger to the world of creation, Petrus is reported to have won a gold medal at national level last year for his invention of a two-in-one machine that works as both a seed drier and cooler.

The shy learner has admitted to working on his invention for two years through money provided by his unemployed parents.

Petrus claims that he invented the phone in the hopes that it would be successful and be able to be carried further.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scores with bicycle kick on Manchester United debut as United beat Galatasaray 5-2



Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes Manchester United have "something big on the go" after scoring a bicycle-kick on his first Red Devils appearance.

Ibrahimovic, 34, met Antonio Valencia's cross with a typically athletic volley as United beat Galatasaray 5-2.

The Turkish side then bossed the remainder of the half and led thanks to goals from Sinan Gumus and Bruma.

But a much-changed United side turned the match around through Wayne Rooney (2), Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata.

And Swedish striker Ibrahimovic believes the future is bright for the Red Devils, who continue to be linked with a £100m move for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.



"There is something big on the go, it's going to be very interesting this year," he said. "Let us say that if Pogba comes too, it's going to be very interesting.

He added: "I'm going to help the team as much as I can and do what I'm good at, creating chances and scoring goals."

Jose Mourinho used 22 players and will leave Gothenburg with as many questions as answers as he ponders his starting XI for next Sunday's Community Shield match which sees his FA Cup winners face champions Leicester at Wembley.

A record official attendance for a Chelsea game watched an improved second-half display from the Blues but we could not recover from three Real Madrid goals before the interval.

The attendance in ‘the Big House’ in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the second largest stadium in the world, was 105,826, and they saw Eden Hazard calmly net twice having come in the second half.
The European champions’ goals had been scored by Marcelo who was on target twice and Mariano Diaz.

Antonio Conte made two changes from the starting line-up three days ago against Liverpool. One was enforced with Oscar replacing Cesc Fabregas who was serving a one-match suspension, and Pedro was given a place on the wing in place of Victor Moses .

The rain that had fallen hard in this corner of Michigan during the morning had thankfully abated by the time the game kicked off in the uncovered stadium at 3pm local time. It had, however, left the pitch wet. Not that it slowed the start by Chelsea, dressed in our new dark second kit against the white of Real.

After a spot of keep-ball from kick-off, a free-kick in prime Willian territory was delivered into the six-yard box but it got caught under the feet of John Terry .
Nemanja Matic on the follow up had his shot blocked by keeper Francisco Casilla. That was the best of the opening period for the Blues.

Matic, at the other end, drew a save from Asmir Begovic soon after when he over-powered his header back.

Oscar , playing in a deeper role than for much of his Chelsea career, had begun the game well and one especially forceful challenge on Mateo Kovacic drew gasps from the crowd.


Pedro ran out of space when attacking the goal at pace when released by
Bertrand Traore but then Real began to make it increasingly hard for Chelsea to play the ball out of our half.

Marcelo made the Spaniards’ period of territorial advantage tell in the 19 minute when the left-back cut inside Willian and let go a shot which beat Begovic with the aid of a deflection. Having gone 1-0 up, our opponents would be on top for the rest of the half.

Begovic was able to keep out a firm header from Raphael Varane but he was beaten low at the near post on 26 minutes by the earlier goalscorer, who won the ball, exchanged passes with Marco Asensio and burst between Gary Cahill and
Matic.

Soon after Marcelo’s second, Begovic saved a Carlos Casimiro free-kick, conceded at the expense of yellow card by Bertrand Traore , with Pedro and Cahill following him into the book before the break.

Chelsea continued to struggle with the overload down our right caused by Marcelo’s runs forward, and the Brazilian was involved again in the move that ended with Mariano hammering in Real Madrid’s third.


Changes at the break included the introduction of two of our Euro 2016 quarter-finalists, Thibaut Courtois and Michy Batshuayi. Nathaniel Chalobah and Juan Cuadrado also came on.

Cuadrado cleared the bar by not far with a free-kick early in the second half and Batshuayi did well to get a shot away that was saved low down. It was a much better spell for Conte’s men. Traore almost capitalised from a moment of misjudgement by Real keeper Casilla who had chased a ball out of the area, but a defender got back to block the youngster’s shot.

Then, after Real Madrid had made a raft of substitutions and Eden Hazard had come on for Pedro , there were shots wide at either end as the game continued as a much more even contest than the first half.

Victor Moses , only just on the pitch, was brought down by Zinedine Zidane’s son Enzo on the edge of the area and although Hazard cleared the bar with the free-kick, the Belgian was on target soon after when he beat substitute keeper Ruben Yanez to a Chalobah long pass and slotted it inside the near post.

It was 3-1 with 10 minutes to go and Cuadrado flashed a low ball across the face of goal as we went in search of more. Batshuayi caused problems and came closest to scoring with a shot deflected wide.

Hazard added his second in stoppage time and it was a near carbon copy of his first, with Batshuayi this time supplying the pass.


Next up is the final game of the US tour on Wednesday in Minneapolis against AC Milan.
